Hi,

I'm going to make my own immersion chiller and before I head off to the hardware store I how a couple of questions if someone can help please...

1) How long should I make the coil, is 12 metres long enough?, and

2) is 12mm diameter pipe okay?

Cheers

12 meters is long enogh IMO...you could wrap it around a keg
and 12mm is about 3/8 inch copper...which is just dandy !
My head hurts...far too many beers at last nights wedding...

Hi Carboy,

You don't mention how much wort you want to chill. Do you only do single batches or doubles?

12mm pipe is usually referred to as 1/2 inch pipe and I think 12 meters should be enough, might be a little slow for double batches but would be great for single batch size.

Dave.

Hi davewaldo,

I'm moving to AG in a couple of weeks, at first I'll only be doing single batches, then doubles further down the track.

Cheers
