well worth every penny as its so easy to clean.

I dont doubt it is the best, but is the cheapest? including overseas suppliers? Thats a huge cost - could probably get teflon for that!

Nope, teflon is way more expensive 1/2 inch OD, 0.375 inch ID for $37.50 per meter (should be $72.69 per meter)
1.1 inch OD, 1 inch ID $76 per meter. Now thats what I call expensive!

1/4 inch OD, 4.7mm ID is 17.29 per meter. All from specialisedwholesale.com.au they matched the price from their supplier Dotmar.

Silicon tube is way easier to move around in the brewery too. You can't bent copper the way I bend my silicon tubing and hope to keep using it for long anyway.

Silicon all the way :beerbang:

Silicon hose FTW. It is:

- Flexible
- Easy to use
- Clear
- Durable
- Tolerates high heat

I use the stuff for everything- at all points in my brewing process from getting the hot water from the HLT to my mash tun all the way to transferring beer from the fermenter into the keg. Worth the money.

If you don beieve me ask Tony on how much sh1t copper plumbing in his brewery has given him

Pumpy :)

 what?

I love my copper pipes!

My problems were:

1. a dodgy bung in my starter flask
2. a dodgy fermenter with a pin hole to a small bubble in the plastic that went rotton inside
3. racking in my garage with some sort of wild yeast in the air.
4. filthy kettle outlet tap. fixed by cleaning after each brew!

My copper pipes work well. A PBW hit once in a while keeps the clean but i do have plans for a full SS upgrade to the pipes.

I do like silicon tube though! I wont take that away from you

cheers
