I'm a first time hop grower, and am interested in getting a rough figure for my expected yield.
I'm growing Tardif. I've trained 3 bines vertically for 2m, then horizontally. They've gone across about 2 mitres now, and are still growing reasonably well (about 2-5cm/day) despite flowers starting to form. A couple of new side arms are starting to pick up pace now, and seem to be forming plenty of flowers, too. Doing a rough count, I've got at least 250 flowers forming. I reckon I'll easily have 300 or so cones by harvest time.
Does anyone know roughly what weight I'm likely to get out of 300 Tardif cones? Doing some searches, it seems that dry weight is about 20-25% of the fresh weight, but I can't for the life of me find anything giving approximate weights of hop cones themselves.
