Bottled my first brew and hand capped.
In using the hand capper, I noticed that the brew fizzed a bit in some bottles whilst tapping the cap on. Is this normal? I suspect it has to do with the sugar drops in the brew?
also do you swirl the bottles so they absorb the drops or just leave them sit?

Probably just carbon dioxide coming out of solution from the vibration, nothing to worry about. Don't bother swirling the bottles, the sugar will dissolve soon enough and the yeast will get to it.
