When I lived full time in the UK I would bathe about 2 or at the most 3 times a week. Disgusting insanitary?? Well on the few occasions I have been back there I would shower every day for the first few days. Then slowly go back to form and just shower every couple of days. You can go flat out in that climate but after a couple of days you can sniff your armpit and all you can smell is the deodorant you put on days ago. At ambient 12 degrees you just dont need to bathe every day. I remember as a kid we had big American air bases, after WW2 and they would shower every day in the UK winter and come down with skin diseases, literally.

however there is one or two parts of the anatomy that do get used on a daily basis that do need a daily cleanup so hence the popularity of the bidet
