My Munich Lager yeast ended up at the back of the fridge and froze. It only got as for as slurpy consistancy before saved. Will this have any detrimental effects?

I have a couple of friends that lost wyeast packs under the seat in their cars. Both lost them sometime in the fall and both found them in spring. Both packs endured -40C winter temps; both ultimately swelled and both worked. But definitely make a starter anyway.

Yeah definately will make a starter. I want to have this yeast for later use. Hopefully if i need more it will come before my planned brew day via mail. Loosing yeast in the ild weather of Canada and it still working gives me confidence!

Cells break down when frozen, it may still work ok though.
