Evening all.. as the topic reads, Ive just had/having my first week in.... such a long time... of not buying any Coops...
(Im a pretty religous Coopers Green drinker) at least I WAS...

At last the fruits of the obsession are paying off :D The cupboard of delight provides!!

I have a Friendly Tuesday Pool Night at a local (GB) in Richmond Vic and the staff there were keen for me to bring down a bottle for a little taste.. well I have been banging on about brewing for a bit now... anyway it was just about the first bottle Ive made public outside the house... and it was well recieved  Oh the joy...

manticle if you are out there I have that replacement for you..

Ive got 8 crates chockas and im looking forward to demolishing the frikkin lot of em :p

No real question today guys.. Im just a happy little brewer fully addicted to the sport

haha yeah its a good feeling this is my first week I had to buy alcohol for almost a month as my last few brews have been taking to long to carb up but have 2 carbing, 2 CC and one fermenting hope to get 2 more temp controls, 2 reptile lamps and maybe another fermenter this week then can do 2 lagers and 2 ales or 4 ale and then use the other fridge for cc and warming bottles (can swap the bottles to the heating cupboard when I CC)

I'm in the opposite position. I haven't bought a slab for months but some slackness combined with a pending upgrade to an AG brewery I'm almost out of beer. I reckon I'm down to abt 3-4 slabs of home brew so I really should bottle a couple of batches tonight (which should've been bottled abt a month ago). I really don't want to do any more extract brews but it's taking longer than I was hoping for to get my AG gear set up.

I've recently been purchasing from the bottle-o. Not having any bottled homebrew, a few varieties on tap that I'm not 100% keen on and lack of brewing forced my hand. Am enjoying the carton of Schofferhoffer Krystalweizen very much though and having more 500ml bottles for homebrew is always a good reason. APA ready to be kegged weekend, pils ready for lagering next weekend so commercial purchases won't be required. YAY!

I offered my missus a kilkenny last night (she's a bit of a kilkenny fan, and was stoked when she turned to me and said "nah, I won't have a beer unless you're willing to go out to the shed and get me one of your homebrews"; it gave me a very similar sense of satisfaction... reckon she might be a soft target now for the keg system investment proposal :)

I always make like 4 kegs of beer and then for the next two months act like I have an unlimited supply, and then they all go at once and I'm screwed.

Horrible horrible feeling.

I would love to own another 10 kegs and store them warm until drinking time so there's always a big buffer and you never run out.

My simple system:

I have an storage cabinet in the garage ( otherwise known as an old fridge ) that takes about 60 longnecks plus a fermenter.
My spreadsheet currently shows 92 total stock, of which about 10 are in the bar fridge cooled and ready to drink.

The last batch, of some 35 longnecks, is in 2 cartons on the bottom floor of the fridge in the space where a fermenter would fit.
As bottles are consumed from the top of the fridge I move the rest upwards, maintaining a rough first brewed first drank system.

Then when the space on the bottom floor is empty the cardboard cartons go back to the brewery and the fermenter gets filled and next brew started. That way I NEVER run out, ever.

Even in the face of 2 recent big birthday parties where almost an entire brew was consumed, Xmas holidays and high summer consumption in the 5 years I've been brewing I've never had to resort to actually buying beer.

And since a mate brought some Coopers Green over and I said, "that yeast will go towards a good brew" they don't bother bringing commercial beer over any more either.

You'll treat it the same way you treat 4 kegs - unlimited supply until you lose all 10 and then forced to brew 10 batches quickly

mate !!!!

strike now, there's not going to be a better chance than that !!
and well done...
