Good on ya for taking your time and reading through a lot of information which is already hidden amongst all the jibber-jabber in the forum!
Just by doing that, I think you have saved yourself plenty of heartbreak and dissapointment by not having to brew those first few 'typical' brews (Coopers Lager, 1kg white sugar, kit yeast, no temp control, etc.).
You've given yourself a big head-start in this 'game'.
