You really left us hanging BB... hope all went well and you are finished by now :D

Ok so its all done and my wort is cooling in the fridge (no chiller method  ). The brew was a simple pale ale with POR and Hallertauer.

The Day went fairly smoothly though I learnt that hot tap water and a 2 litre kettle will not cut it for getting the volume of hot water I need for my mash. Took me quite a few boiling jugs to bring my HLT water up to 75c. I also dont have a tap in my boiler and so have to syphon the wort out of it after the boil. This worked ok though I need to refine my syphon method a tad to get things going smoother. Ended up having to call in more hands in the form of my brother and mates to get my patented syphon contraption working.

Anyways I took some pics :)

Heres the grain and hops, the hops are in the little blue and red tubs all measured out ready to go

Extra hands needed to syphon! for now anyways

I might look for better cubes as the second one has alot of head space in it.... dunno how that will effect the brew.

If you are planning to pitch fairly soon, I'd guess the airspace won't be an issue.

An auto-syphon will solve all that mucking about with hoses full of water etc etc. Much easier. :super:

Looks like a fun day. The mash does smell so goooooooooooood. :D
