What are you using for finnings Bob? Gelatine?
 
I used to re use after adding gelatine to primary. These days I rack off to a cube and do all fining in there in a fridge so the trub has no gelatine in it. Go for it.

I think the "other" is probably chicken vaginas.

Since there can often be globs of gelatin and other stuff you don't want in your trub, I wash the yeast (with water) before re-pitching, details outlined here: http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...?showtopic=3697
The end result should be a large quantity of clean fresh and viable yeast ready for the next batch.
