Looks great to me.
I just made one very similar for a brew comp.
However... the judging notes all concurred... more hops!
If you dont mind the suggestion, add another 20 dry in the fermenter when you pitch your yeast, and then add another 20g when you go to secondary.
Im doing just that at the moment with a double IPA.
:)

I'm never one to say that styles are that important, or that you can't experiment, but I think in this case you'd be better off to combine US hops with a US yeast, S05 etc or else English hops with an english yeast, especially as I know you are relatively new to the game and probably still trying to get your head around styles and different yeasts, hops etc.
Doing an IPA with US hops and that yeast I think will be nice, I suppose it just depends on what you are looking to get out of the brew in terms of learning process as well as good beer :)

I also think that that recipe is going to have a lot of up front hop bitterness and not enough hop flavour.
If you don't want to add more hops, say because you have a 90g pack, then I'd consider sacrificing some IBUs in order to get some more hop flavour by taking some off your 60min addition and putting them in at 20, or 15 etc.

As to hop variances, the possibilities are endless but if you want something different to what you have there consider adding another US hop with the Cascade.

ok, so i am thinking, some amarillo for the aroma and dry hop in the fermenter (and keg if i have it by then :D ).
so now the recipe sits as this

oh, and there are 2 dry hops there coz one will be in the fermenter, one will be in the keg (thats a maybe at this point)

I reckon if you're going to use Amarillo in there as well, you may want to put some in at the 15 minute mark as well. That'll give you a bit more punch flavourwise.
I'd also be tempted to add some more varied malt for you base. Possibly a 1kg of amber or caramalt in place of the pale to give some extra complexity to the body.

i like the sound of this. 1kg of caramalt isnt too much is it? i will be steeping....

I was thinking along the lines of Caramalt extract...like this

I recently made an IPA using 1.5kg Pale Malt extract, 1.5kg Amber extract, 1kg Caramalt extract, and 150g of steeped Crystal grain, and was particularly happy with the resulting maltiness of the beer.
Finished with at 1.018 from an OG of 1.062, quite rich in the malt department but that's typical of an IPA. And with 40+ IBUs in your beer, a higher FG would balance your beer quite nicely.

Or for the cheats way out, just replace 1kg of your malt extract with a 1kg tin of the morgans caramalt blend stuff, or the dark crystal one.

I used it on a very very simple dark ale for me and my dad (except i used the choc malt one) and it turned out very nice. so so simple as well, and used all fuggles. almost too easy to make

EDIT: Muggus beat me to it... :icon_cheers:

If i were you, I'd be going with a more generic bittering hop, and saving all that cascade for 20min and flameout additions, and dry hopping.

lately ive been using pacific gem for bittering, nice and smooth and neutral.

also, its an ipa... bump up the OG!! that amount of bitterness with a low OG and FG will be pretty in your face. Treat it like an APA, but go nuts with everything. right now its just like a bitter apa. more hop flavour, more maltyness, and if youre into it, more alcohol.

even better would be a bit of bittering hops at the start, then hopburst for 20-30min

hows this? the craftbrewer said that simcoe went well with amarillo and cascade, so hows this looking? upped the hops, esp flav and aroma, upped the malt, added in some carapils
