I have a 40 litre esky that I would like to modify to make it into a mash tun. Do you guys think it will be big enough to mash in taking into consideration the grain bill for a 20-23 litre outcome in the FV?

Thanks
Peter

5kg mash fits nicely into a 25Ltr esky

You dont want it to big as you can loose heat heat

I started with a 26 L. Got a slightly bigger one now but plenty of volume in yours. Mash in around 3L/kg, recirculate, drain and batch sparge or look at fly sparging.
