Just picked up:
Black Rock East India Pale Ale
Morgan's Extra Pale Malt Extract 1.5kg
Brewcraft Hop Plugs: UK East Kent Goldings 2*14g
Safale US-56

This will be my second foray into doing an Ale kit completely without any dex

----------------
recently put on {MUNTONS BLONDE BEER, Blackrock Amber malt extract, 5g Golden Cluster Hops, Safale S-04 11.5g} and at the same time {MORGANS ROYAL OAK AMBER ALE, Brewblend #15???, Safale S-04 11.5g}) I don't know why i did this as they were both strong on the amber, but anyways - the mouthfeel of the Blonde was so much fuller than that of the Amber Ale (which was more like 'flavoured water' [excellent quote from someone on this site] in comparison). I figure the greatest contributor to this was the fact that the Brewblend i used contained at least 50% dextrose. It was from this point on i vowed to never use dex with an ale again (apart from priming)
----------------

Anyhoos - Unsure how i should approach the IPA

with the Blonde i (extract from diary):
...'Brought hops and Amber malt extract to boil in about 3L water - 10 mins. Burnt a little on bottom of the pot. Added Blonde Beer kit - spent 5 mins mins to come to boil agiain. Let it roll for a couple of minutes, before pouring into fermentor.'....

The brewshop owner said she would boil the kit and extract together, while steeping the hops (14g) seperately, then mix them all together in the fermentor.

Any suggestions to point me the right direction along with the reasons why would be muchly appreciated from this novice.

I wouldn't boil the kit. I think that would get rid of most of the hops that are in the kit. Not too sure about the black rock kit.

From the ingredients, you could get away with mixing it altogether and bunging it into the fermenter, except for the hops.

Steeping the hops could be done in a cup for around 5 - 10 minutes with boiling water.

sounds great except for the US 56 I would use a British ale yeast and still dry hop with EKG.

as the Brits invented it
