I recently brewed Hoppy Days Old Codger recipe which is akin to Tooheys Old. It is very good but for my taste I prefer something with more malt presence. Question is - what is the best way to achieve this? The recipe and result was (brewed in a G30):
Pale Craft Malt 73%
Raw Sugar 20%
Dark Chocolate. 5%
Brown Malt 2%
Mash 60 mins @ 68c
Mash Out 10 mins @ 75c
60 min boil
20g Pride of Ringwood @ 60mins
SafAle English Ale S-04 Yeast
Results:
4.9% ABV (+0.3%)
IBU 23 (-1)
OG 1.043 (+3)
FG 1.006 (+1)
My first impression is that the IBU might be high for what I'm looking for and the FG maybe too low.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
