This has sort of been touched on in other threads, but it mainly seemed to be inconclusive.
When having a selection of beers (or a tasting paddle etc) is there a specific order you are supposed to follow? IE, relating to the colour, IBU's, alc % or anything like that?
I had a tasting paddle at a not so reputable adelaide brewpub a few weeks ago, and the instructions that came with it said you drink the beers in order from most IBUs to least. But felt strange having a big IPA, followed by a not so big pale, and drinking a stout as one of the middle beers, rather than at the end.
Anyone know what BCJP says, or how its 'supposed' to be done? And how do the odd beers fit in- fruit beers, ginger beer, lambics etc? Should i be drinking a face smashing IIPA followed by a milk stout...?
Cheers
