Hey Guys,
Looking for some info &/or experiences with calculating IBU's after diluting wort?

paul,

as far as i know ibu's are measured in mg/L

using the formula IBU = (grams of hops* AA%)* utilization*10/ volume at the end of the boil

it looks like all you have to do is mulitply the ibu's of the wort by the orignal volume and then divide it by the final volume to get the diluted ibu's

Hi Paul,
its quite easy to calculate: 1 IBU = 1mg of isomerized alpha acid in 1 Liter of wort.

For example: your batch size is 25l and youd wish to have 25IBU in it.

25mg isomerized AA * 25 Liter = 625mg isomerized AA.

If youd like to dilute the wort, just use the rule of three.
