Hey all, had a bit of crap luck with a brew yesterday. I had recently added a bazooka style hop screen on the inside of my kettle- biab with recirculation. When emptying the batch, it couldn't get the last few viable litres out due to blockage. Anyone else had this issue? I'm thinking I'll bin the stupid thing.

Don't bin it! It'll save mucho frustration when you get some flowers. When using only pellets take it off and use a seive into the fermenter as pellet debris will clog it. Good bit of kit as soon as flowers enter your brewday

Thanks. I'm planning on growing some hops, so I'll keep it for then.

Last time my bazooka got blocked I consulted a Urologist.

No real need to filter out hop pellet debris, they usually end up in the yeast cake leaving clear beer.
