been looking to move up from a 40L to 100L and came across this:

http://www.cheekypeakbrewery.com.au/index.php/everything-mashing/bioler-brew-kettles/product/1592-electric-ss-100ltr-boiler-brew-kettle-single-base-includes-chiller-whirl-pool-kit

by the time you add up the price of all the kit it looks like a pretty good buy.

by adding a false bottom, pump this looks like a pretty good 1V BIAB?

any other options I should consider? I want to keep going electric and add some kind of controller down the track.

Depends if you like ro tinker or not.. Don't forget some sort of pulley rig, super strong bag and extra power will also be required

Specs have it heating a 1-2 degrees per minute, do you think this is a bit overly optimistic for the 2 x 2400w at 95L?

I remember seeing a calc sheet around here and thought the recommendation was 2400w+3600w or there abouts.

I've got an over-the-side element but i'd rather keep it simpler by having the required power from the kettle itself.

1-2°C/min might be true from 20 - 30°C but as you move away from ambient temp the rate of heating/cooling slows. 4400W isn't a lot for 95l but will do the job, albeit just. I think you'd be keen pushing 95l in a 100l vessel but I don't like to live as dangerously as some.

Interesting about the slowing of the heating. yeah, I guess the grainbill of around 15kg for a 60L batch, with 80L of strike water or something similar.

As I am a big fan of school night brewing, getting water up to strike ASAP is crucial. Asking cheeky peak for element upgrades at the mo.

Did you end up getting this kettle? I've been eyeing it off for while now. Would be wanting to do double/triple batch biab in it.

I just bought the pot from cheekypeak, and am looking into getting a custom element from Romar Elements. Also looking to do triple batches on a school night so I'm looking at 2 x 4200w elements so I can get to strike temp fast, and also to the boil. Have got a Brauduino now that can handle 2 x 4800w, but my sparky suggested running a bit less.

Gotta get some nice big cable into my shed to get this going at the same time...and got geared winch ( http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/272012784431 ) for slow and controlled bag lifts.

will start a build thread once I get my elements sorted.

We did this..
