G'day folks, I was wondering if when you brew a larger volume if it takes longer in the fermenter? I recently put down near 60 liters of coopers ginger beer for when the boys come for Christmas and 8 days later she's still bubbling away. Its been kept at a constant 19 yo 20 degrees and I used the same ratio of yeast. Its my first brew so maybe if just being impatient.

That's a lot of ginger beer. I presume you are using the kit yeast. Don't worry 8 days is nothing it can run on for 14days or more depending on how much sugars you got in there. Temperature is good relax.

Trust not the tin. Yeah I thought I might have been a bit over excited, thanks.

I would say if you haven't catered for the extra volume by using a sufficient amount of yeast, that would be your issue. Give it more time and trust the hydro.

Alternatively, when it's clear on top, that's when it's done. (Use hydro at this time)

I once read on this website:

Your hydrometer is calibrated piece of equipment

Your airlock is a piece of shitty plastic
