Just using up the second last of my kit and kilo kits so I'm doing the following brew:

1.8kg Brewcraft Irish Stout
1kg dark DME
Safale S04 yeast

Get it out of the way and get onto some good extract brews!

For 1 kg DME I would be throwing in a hop addition. Maybe some East Kent Goldings; or something along that line.

Thanks QldKev! I'll track some down before I get to brewing!

My Irish stout has a grain steep - 100grams Choc Malt and 100grams Roasted Barley, steep for half hour in a litre very hot/boiling water, lid on saucepan, then strain and rinse grains thru a sieve into another pan and boil that liquid for 10 minutes.

Imparts a wonderful rich feel and roast flavour.

Mick.
