I am after advice from anyone who may have purchased a bottle filler http://brewerschoice.com.au/shop/beer-taps-and-guns/bottle-filler/ or growler drafto kit http://craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=5645
looking for something convenient to take to mates places in the future.
I currently have a 19l keg set up in a 80l wheelie bin which is great for parties or a number of drinkers, but certainly not convenient for a couple of beers, I also bottle occasionally but don't always have stock due to time constraints.

thoughts?

I've got a bottle filler mate, rarely use it but if I do it's for storing bottles for some time or as give aways. If I want to fill some bottles to take to a party I just chill them and then fill straight from the tap at a reduced pressure. I then usually drink them that day.

I have the drafto and a 2l double wall ss growler. Only ordered 1 co2 bulb instead of 4. Blew through it trying to manage the micro co2 regulator. It works but I need to play around with it more.

Could be the regulator is pretty poor.

Hi, I have both the bottle filler and the growler drafto kit.
I bought the bottle filler for racking off a keg to store bottles or growlers for a longer period of time. Works great, beer seems to stay fresh.

If you are just filling a growler or two that day to take to a mates, I'd just fill up from the tap in a cold bottle or growler.
Use a bit of tubing like the brewpubs do, or one of these if love gadgets: http://www.cheekypeakbrewery.com.au/index.php/bottles-bottling/product/1023-chrome-plated-brass-beer-tap-growler-filler

The growler drafto kit, I think its more a bit of fun to dispense, only really useful if you're not finishing a growler that day to keep it a little more fresh.
I have taken a few growlers with the drafto kits in an esky and everyone seems to love it.
I find the mini regulator great for dispensing 6 or 9 litre party kegs, which is what I really use it for.
