Group,

I want to make a single hop session beer (Since hops are so damn expensive) Has anybody brewed a ripper or can reccomend a good hop to service both bitterin and aroma needs.

I hear Amarillo goes quite well... although it can be a bit hard to find and rather expensive at the moment.

Maybe try some NZ hops, something like Pacific Gem or Southern Cross. They're pretty high alpha so you won't need too much of them either.

I like an aussie pale with POR

Jeez so many too pick from but how about East Kent Goldings, one of the best hops ever for my money.

centennial, high alpha for bittering and good flavor/aroma (if you like citrus)

POR all the way, and yes I used 1084. Came out tops.

If you can get your mitts on some Galaxy this is even nicer. Differing slant on an Australian Pale/Sparkling Ale. :D

Done properly, every commercially available hop you can buy at a good hbs can make a single session hop beer. I bought 3 x 1kg bags of cascade, EKG & Liberty and are using these now and have made good shsb withl each of them (as well as Northern Brewer, Perle,Willamette,CSaaz .. It's only your ability to make a good brew that's stopping you.
