Hi,

Ive just tapped my first keg and pouring speed is fine. Sitting 12-14 psi The only issue i have is when i open the tap, or in my case a stainless steel pluto gun. Im getting a high pressure spike which is blowing beer and froth everywhere on initial opening. Im opening the gun quick like i should but i dont know why the first instant bit of beer is shooting out at high pressure. Im currently having to use a bucket next to my fridge to start off and place the glass underneath after initial pouring.

Id really apprieciate some advice.

Cheers

Have you tried reducing the pressure in the keg? Try 5-8 psi? Might be a slightly longer pour, but with no foam...

Is the Pluto gun and beer line warmer than the keg?

You might have some gas buildup in the gun itself, so your first shot of beer is pure foam
