Hi All,

A few mates and I went to the Belgian Beer Cafe in Adelaide last night and tried Belgiums strongest beer, the Bush Amber. Now being a poor student, I couldnt justify the $15.20 for one 250mL beer, having plenty of home brew in the fridge for cheap :D

My question is has anyone tried a barley wine using extracts? My friends threw down the challenge to me to see if i could make a decent barley wine, and I'm a bit worried haha.

The website says The beer is brewed from 3 malts, crystal and winter and spring pilsner malts, and is hopped 3 times, twice with Kent Goldings and once with Styrians.

Does anyone think this is worth while chasing? I know im going to have to let it condition for 3-6 months!!

Many Thanks

in SS Stock pot add - amber Malt, Sugar 7ltrs of just boiled water.
add 50gms of Kent Goldings for 20min boil.
add 25gms for last 10mins -
