2+ hour drive to remote little town for daughters soccer game, 2+ hours waiting and watching, 2+ hours back home....
Sunday ******.....
luckily I bottled 2 batches of IPA on Friday and saturday night.
Finished with a couple of Double Choc Vanilla Porter's whilst cooking the BBQ and playing fetch with the dog, not all was lost. :chug:

Hi all, I'm about to bottle my second brew. It's an australian bitter been in the fermenter for two weeks now with a good 6 days of no bubbles or foam. I think I bottled my first batch too early and that tastes ordinary still. Is two weeks enough. Hydrometer readings been steady for 4 days now. Any advice would be much appreciated :)

If your hydro readings have been the same for 4 days your good to go brother!

On a hunch I got into BILO round the corner as the first customer, and a heap of meat had been marked down 40% so I stocked up. Had to fight off a couple of ******* for the pork chops but one of them got to the oyster blade steaks before I did. Scored a lovely $27 a kilo porterhouse steak for $3.50 ... brekky.

Nice Sunday morning brew day going on right now, half way through a 2 hour mash, next up is a 90 minute boil with only first wort and bittering addition, cubes were cleaned last night so not much left to do, might have to pour a beer, thinking an ESB would go down nicely.

porterhouse steak for $3.50," might have to pour a beer" - this is all great stuff for a Sunday morning.

3rd night in row 1 year old hasn't slept.... losing will to live.......can't function.....better go and help with kids....... zzzzz.......

I went with the California Common.

Bloody delicious beer.

Also working. Pushing off waste dumps in the middle of no where and about to help the boss change out the suspension in his Suzuki Sierra mustering rig. Today is BBQ lunch day.

While I would much rather be at home and I'm missing my girlfriend and beer (rarely drink on site), life ain't so bad!

Also working today. In my last 2 weeks of my retail career so really looking forward to having a weekend off in the future.

Always wondered how people in retail stay sane between ****** hours and stupid customers.

There is no way on earth I could do it.

Being a fat pig eating cheese & salami, just put a bunch of the Qld swap beers in the fridge, got some kick-arse commercial beers to taste too. Going to cook up some lamb kofta balls and some hot wings which have been marinating in buttermilk.
Sunday, gluttony Sunday.

Nice........sun just peeping out onto back verandah, 8c, could be beer time.

Worked yesterday and last night so have Sunday and Monday off. Bottled a beer this morning. (I used to have a keg fridge until my wife decided to help get rid of the block of ice building up on the element with a screw driver!!!) Just finished setting up for an early morning brew tomorrow. Having a few beers and just about to put a roast on for dinner. Things are finally looking up.
Cheers
Steve

There's a story about the early days of the New Yorker magazine, when Harold Ross (the editor) approached Dorothy Parker in desperation, asking for a new column for the next edition. Parker turned to him, eyes brimming with tears, and bawled out: "My PENCIL broke!"

So yeah. I'm in pretty much the same position. Was going to do a beer today but.... my HYDROMETER broke!

If anyone needs me my face will be pretty much buried in this handkerchief for the next few hours...
