I doubt it would be drinkable DC82.

Those types of yeast are mainly used to produce base alcohol for spirit making.

It then goes thru a still where it is concentrated and the nasties taken out.

Would be an interesting experiment just to see how it turns out but I don't know about giving to friends.

Sounds like it's meant for making stuff to put in a still from high concentration sugar solutions. OK if all you're after is rocket fuel.

I don't think you would really need a special high alcohol yeast to make a 12-13% beer. Most yeasts will do that ok. That's basically just a Barey Wine alcohol level.

If you NEED a high alcohol yeast White Labs make a high gravity culture. It is a limited/seasonal thing so it may not currently be available though.
