Hi all

I have a small aeration filter i got from the local fish shop. It works really well with a little plastic tip that distributes the bubbles and comes apart for easy cleaning. Since using i have noticed mush faster and stronger fermentations.

I have used it in about 3 brews and to date have not used an air filter. I have read Palmers suggestion of using a syringe air filter but have not been able to find one.

What are people using out there as an air filter on the fish pump? Anyone got any ideas of what i could use.

I know sooner or later i will get an infection since i am not filtering the air before t gets pumped into the wort.

Thanks

nah filtering air is a crock I reckon, unless you have really filthy air I wouldn't worry about it.

Craftbrewer sells sanitary air filters. I use one in a setup just like you mention. :)

Thanks mate. Looks like just what i need. For $8.50 i figure i might as well do it even if it is not required as Sammus suggested above.
