I found a great web page that explains and converts all of the old English, US and metric beer measures:

http://www.gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/units/volume.htm

Here's a quick guide:

20.41L = 1 pin (5.4 US Gal / 4.5 UK Gal)
40.82L = 1 firkin (2 pins)
81.65L = 1 kilderkin (2 firkins / 4 pins)
163.29L = 1 barrel (2 kilderkins / 4 firkins / 8 pins)
244.94L = 1 hogshead (1.5 barrels / 3 kilderkins / 6 firkins / 12 pins)
326.59L = 1 puncheon (2 barrels / 4 kilderkins / 8 firkins / 16 pins)
489.88L = 1 butt (1.5 puncheons / 3 barrels / 6 kilderkins / 12 firkins / 24 pins)
979.76L = 1 tun (1.5 butts / 3 puncheons / 6 barrels / 12 kilderkins / 24 firkins / 48 pins).

So I'm guessing we've got plenty of pin brewers, quite a lot of firkin brewers, and probably a few pin-and-firkin brewers?

But I dont want to be a pin brewer.

I want to be a butt firkin puncheon hogshead. :lol:

Sorry.
Couldn't help myself there.

Is it as good as http://brewiki.org/cgi-bin/unitform.py?

I haven't tried old scottish units but it has a pretty comprehensive list.
