    Real Apple Cider

Hi Tom, I made 23 liters of cider using a juicer, and I won't do it again. I chewed though 5 boxes of apples (pink lady, gala and granny smith). The juicer is just not built to cope with that volume (unless you got a professional one). Mine was smoking after 15 minutes, and had to cool down...

Jao The Ultimate Beginners Mead Recipe

Brewer Pete, I have a question regarding bottling the mead. Do you add fresh yeast and a bit of sugar to carbonate and scavenge the remaining oxygen in the bottle? Or do you just bottle in wine bottles with an additive like sulphite to prevent oxidization? Beers!

    750 Ml Glass Bottle Prices

Most big bottle shops sell the stubbies below cost. I've asked around at LN, and the wholesale price for New is higher than the price you pay at Dan Murphy's. Sold as a loss leader just to get the footfall in. Guess the longnecks are being sold at a more realistic price.

Where To Buy Small Glass Carboys

Hi DJ, These 5 liter carboys are called a demijohn. It's a flask with a swingtop seal. I picked mine up at a LHBS some time ago. It's a great size for yeast starters and small brews, and yes, siphoning is the way to get the liquid out. I clean these same as my conical flasks: hot water and...

Just give them 2 weeks anywhere above 18 Celsius, and the will have carbed up.... a bit longer is required for full maturation with some brews... especially if you are after something to have a souring effect. edit after thought
