    Microbrew Gusher

Funnily enough I had complete ignorance from Murray's.Emailed them about a faulty product 3 years ago.Still waiting for a reply. Needless to say will never buy that brand, and actively tell friends and colleagues to avoid it.Piss poor form

    Crushing Grains Without A Mill

Still using my "pasta mill",doing a fine job.I dont care that it takes 20 minutes to crush 10kgs.I've automated mine. Just changed malt brands, efficiency up around 88%. I love making pasta ;)

What Is You 'house Beer' In The Winter?

I like to have a good supply of Alts for winter, dark wheats and Belgian strong or Blond ale. But always have APA on tap for an alternative, year round. If I had to pick one,Alts :)

    No Longer A Ag Virgin...

Nice one dude, your on the slippery slide to oblivion now ;). Over the years have had quite a few stuck sparges, usually clear them pretty easy, blow back up,dig a channel, restir let settle. Over the weekend, had a stuck sparge I couldn't budge.Had to remove grain from tun and re- acquire. In...

Always tasted it doing extract,no matter how fresh, what brand. As I added more grains or dried malt extract found it got better. The best I found was using a mixture of dried malt extract and grains.Leave the tins on the shelf and hop it yourself. Although I did get one 28kg tin of unhopped...

How Long Till I See Action

I'm with sponge, gladwrap is my favourite bit of brew gear B) Too see,is believe. So many new brewers get anxious about this airlock bubbling crap. Most kits dont seal up properly to begin with.So panic sets in,dumb things are done, ruining the first batch. If new brewers were told to use...

    No Confensation On Gladwrap

I can never keep WY3068 in the fermenter, unless 33% headspace.Oh and I stress the 3068 as well! I have the same problem with WY1007 if fermented on the warm side, whereas WLP029 at the same temp barely rises. WY3944 likes to crawl out, at the very moment your not looking as well ;) Mainly...

    No Confensation On Gladwrap

I don't use a hole either, always have had condensation. I'm pretty familiar with what yeasts will blow off the glad wrap,so lid up these ones with a blow off tube. If using a new recipe/yeast with low headspace,i'll lid up with airlock.I prefer always using gladwrap if I can
