Last night I recovered some Cooper's Pale Ale yeast using the method linked here: Yeast Washing.
I left it on the table last night and this morning the yeast has settled on the bottom in a regular but patchy layer about 4mm thick. It has formed patterns like the cut end of a cucumber. There is no bubbling or krausen forming, and I have it in a yogurt container with a flip up lid. Maybe I should change to gladwrap and see if it's producing gas? Or just sit it out...is there any definitive way to know it's going?
