Thinking of trying something different this brew. I have brewed out a starter of AAII and I'm going to decant the wort off the top and add some boiled, sterile water and pitch the yeast into the bottom of the fermenter first.

Anyone had any dramas doing this? Seems like its a good way to go to me?

I regularly do a 1L or so starter in the fermentor and pitch the wort on top of this. I don't see how your method would cause any issues unless your wort was too warm.
