WTB: 5L party kegs Melb East

Hey guys I know some of us took advantage of ALDIs 5L keg special recently. I'm trying to stock up for my tapping system.

So If you have any empties you don't need I have a couple of tallies of my finest that would happily be traded.

Yeah I saw some of these bizarre "collectables" on ebay. tell him he's dreamin'!

Siege, how do you refill these to use as kegs?

you can only use the ones that don't have a built in co2 cylinder (curse you Bitburger for changing design!)
The rubber bung on top is removable, so bulk prime and fill via bottle wand.
Once it is carbed up plunge the tap on (link below) and 16g co2 chargers provide serving pressure. Not very fast but alright for a couple of mates.

you need yourself one of these:



its a self contained fridge dispenser for the mini kegs

mine is slightly modified, external CO2 and reg, used to take the 16g bulbs.

i don't have the room for full kegs unfortunately, but this does the job so far

Saw one of these for sale at the local trash and treasure market - $5, allegedly perfect working order

Was tempted but then I reminded myself I have a proper kegerator and none of those 5ltr kegs - so why bother.

It is sad when those brief moments of lucidity interrupt the frenzied collection of brewing paraphernalia
