A simple question. didn't want to use yahoo answers so i'm here asking this question only to be ridiculed and lambasted.

AFAIK its because of dehydration. Alcohol dehydrates you pretty quickly and because you are drinking like a fish you trick your body (or mind) into thinking you are hungry when actually your body is begging for liquid other than an alocholic beverage.

Would there be any truth to pissing out your salts making you want to eat salty food?

Next theory. How about the fact that alcohol consumption lowers blood glucose which in turns signals the brain that you are hungry.

It does seem to do that for people prone to being overweight.

The thin ones seem to be able to drink the night away with not a bite to eat.

But alcohol also reduces the "higher faculties" which tend to include self control and moderation, and avoidance of "naughty foods" too.

So once you have a skinful, you feel a bit hungry, and the lack of self control means you eat all the fatty sugary crap you'd normally avoid like the plague.

That's the way I see it. Feel free to dissect discuss and dismiss :)
