Hi guys

I am planning to put down a Black rock whispering wheat kit and I happen to have 1.5 kg of the wheat malt.

Any idea what the effect of an extra 500 gm of fermentables will have on the taste? Obviously higher end alcohol is to be expected

Kit + 1.5 kg malt = Kit + 1 kg sugar + more malt flavour + body.

I wouldn't expect too much more alcohol.

Unless you are really happy with the hoppiness, and planning to ferment with a german Wheat beer yeast, I'd say to treat it as an American wheat beer and toss about 10g flavour hops into the fermentor. Then ferment with a neutral yeast, say US 56 or the kit yeast.

Cheers

Seth out :p
