Hi tung dumpling bar on market lane is good and conveniently located next to the hoffbrauhaus.

If you want something a bit fancier, chin chin and Lucy lu are the top picks for the moment.

Chin chin is walk ins only. Lucy lu take bookings.
 
more on the spirit side but The Wigs bottle shop on queen st (near bourke) has a selection of crazy booze from around the world for something different. There'salso a Dan Murphys as part of QV if you can find it through the maze but the Vintage Cellars on little bourke should be decent enough.
 
Well after all that, we ended up heading to Deja Vu and staying there for a feed. Decent tap list. The beef massaman curry was incredibly good, I'm going to be raving about it for a while. Cheap too.
