yesterday I did a toucan coopers dark ale, today I did draught. I went to add some tettnang to the draught I just did but accidently put it in yesterdays dark ale.
I had 2 cups of water with 20g hops in it steeped in a bag and cooled down.
The dark ale went ballistic, the whole fermenter foamed up and started blasting through the airlock. The fermenter was only filled to 21L and it's a coopers 30L fermenter, so that's 6 inches if instant angry krausen foam shooting up :D
I've put a blow of tube on it, and besides the weird flavour this ale will have, is the beer going to work out all right?
Anyone have any idea why hops made the beer so angry?

I used recultures coopers yeast from the last batch for the brew, so a decent yeast count.
Where I poured the liquid yeast in there was a mini mountain of krausen rising, but there wasn't much of a krausen around the outside before I added the hops in.
