Greetings beer Judges and Stewards,

We hope you'll be able to assist as a JUDGE or STEWARD at this year's VicBrew 2021.

To volunteer, please go to our new competition website Vicbrew 2021

We're now using BCOE&M competition software, so if you haven't registered before, you'll need to create a new account at Vicbrew 2021 before you head to the Volunteers tab.

This year the judging will be on the weekend of the 11th and 12th of September at the Belgian Beer Cafe Eureka, 5 Riverside Quay, Southbank Melbourne. Located about 5 minutes walk from Flinders St Station across the Evan-Walker bridge, this is a BJCP-registered competition and all judges are welcome.

Why volunteer at VicBrew?

  • Evaluate some of the best beer in the state in Australia's biggest homebrewing competition.

  • Hone your judging skills by judging alongside highly experienced beer judges.

  • Earn BJCP points.

  • Free lunch provided for all volunteers.

  • Novice judges and stewards are welcome, with on-the-job training provided.

  • A great range of Belgian beers and craft brews in the Eureka bar.
Starting and finishing times for Saturday and Sunday are expected to be 8.00 am to 5:00 pm with judging organised in two sessions.

We encourage you to pass this message along to any of your friends or acquaintances who might be interested in judging or stewarding.

Thanks for your assistance,

the VicBrew 2021 committee

Hey, folks!

We are ALL currently faced with difficult times & rapidly-changing circumstances......

In an attempt to remain optimistic about holding VICBREW this year & in the face of a totally !@#$^&* situation, we're putting-out this advisory:

IMPORTANT: Closing date for entry drop-off has been extended to 1pm on Saturday 04/09/2021.

This is, unfortunately, still subject to change.

HEADS-UP: A delay in holding VICBREW later in the piece may mean that prize-winners at State-level may not get to enter the Nationals (IF it even goes ahead at all!!).

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but we've all just got to suck it up & do the best we can. The organising Committee is doing its best to make it happen.

WOW! I didn't get angry or actually swear! I must be getting old & in need of replacement.....

I do miss the old days where @MartinOC would give us all a good lecture. Every now and then we all need a good talkinģ to...

Keep up the good with @MartinOC and the Vicbrew crew.

Hi Folks!

VICBREW is going ahead on 27th & 28th of November.

We still need a few more stewards. About 6 for Saturday and 4 for Sunday.

If you can help-out, or know someone who is interested (no experience necessary), please register on the comp website Vicbrew 2021 or email at [email protected]
