Just wondering if it's OK to use for this?
when bulk priming do you use the same amount as you would dextrose.
if so would it take longer to carbonate of the same?

I have been using malt to carb bottles for about 18 months now and love malt mmmmm . I replace the dex that I used to use with about 1.5 times the amount of malt in half a litre of boiling water and bulk prime.

Yep. No problem at all to use it, apart from its tendency to clump when it hits the liquid if you just dump it in dry. You might also end up with a few small sediment balls in the finished beer, or see a slight ring form around the bottle neck. Theoretically you need slightly more LDME to achieve the same carbonation as Dextrose, but on the few occasions I have used it, I haven't noticed much of a drop in carbonation.
