Hi Everyone,

I am going to purchase another tap and gas cylinder to use dedicated for stout, I want to use a Nitro mix maybe 70%nitro 30%co2?

Firstly, what tap should I use?
Secondly, what mix of nitro / co2 should i use and who fills these?

Thanks in Advance :)

Dude,
not sure where to buy the nitro through apart from BOC or other gas suppliers, but I'd got eh 70/30 mix, it's what we used at the Lord and at FIBC for the St. Arnou Irish red. We "nirto'ed" the beer to pressure with the nitro mix, then let it soak in at as close to zeroC as possible, then charged again, as the beer really seems to soak up more nitro than normal cO2 beers. Needs to be serve through a creamer fitting on your tap to get the effect. These are available through Andale and I think through Craftbrewer.

Hope this helps,
Tim

Your local home brew shop should be able to get you a stout restricter.

My taps are Andale and the one that I use for dispensing a good fine head has a creamer plate fitted prior to leaving the font

It does a lovely dance when the right fluid passes through it
