Stainless Cabinetry

Hey Guys,

Here's hoping someone in Melbourne can help out.

I'm doing some backyard rennovation, and am going to build my own outdoor kitchen (I don't like the look of a lot of the stainless BBQ units, and the others are just way too expensive for what you get!). Besides which, none of them have the most importan part - a built in beer font/drip tray!

But I do like the look of the stainless doors and drawers you see in the commercial units. So once I've put my frame up (probably in aluminimum) I'm going to want to source some of those.

Does anyone have any ideas about where I might get hold of something similar?

I know its little poncy but... check the Ikea catalog.

Udden - make free standing kitchen benches, shelves, etc etc. Lots of stainless bench tops and splashbacks. I think they would make a great outdoor kitchen. And they are not only cheaper than any of the commercial stuff, its cheaper than BBQ stuff as well. I suspect cheaper even than if you tried to build the frames yourself.

You buy the frames/benches and you fit in the cabinets, draws or wire shelves as and where you need them. It's all very modular and flexible.

If/when I get a house of my own, both the kitchen and the brewshed will be fitted out in this stuff.

Ok. I've had a look at the Ikea stuff. The benches look neat and well priced - I'll be looking into using those for the brewery, but I don't think the doors or other wood construction materials are up to weather exposure... I'll have to keep looking.
