Hey Guys,

Doing my pre-removal clean and tidy I came across a bag of choc malt and crystal malt, now looking back at my records the last time I used the choc was in Oct last year, it has been sealed in a zip lock bag but how long would it be good for?

Worth keeping and using or should I get rid of it?

Cracked or uncracked? Either way it should be fine as it's specialty grain.

I still have uncracked dark malts like black malt, roasted wheat ect that i rarly use and they are over 2 or 3 years old now.

Still fine.

actually the black malt i have had for 4 years and its getting a bit stale.

But last october should still be good.

The age thing applies mote to malted grains as over time the enzyme power of the malt degenerates.

cheers
