3068 always makes my glad wrap look like something out of alien. When you see that bulge I think "game over man, its game over!"
 
My mead has subsided now. I think what I witnessed with mine was a stage I usually don't get to see (because I usually finish my brews by the evening and go to bed) - the yeast becomes active, rises to the top, and climbs up the walls in its excitement, leaving a kind of high-tide mark that you can observe a day after. I assume this stage is different to high krausen(?) as the highest carbon dioxide production comes after this 'high tide' stage.
