So when does one stop being a noob and become part of the furniture?

1. X years as a brewer?
2. X amount of batches of beer?
3. X amount of time you have been a member of this forum?

Pick your number and your reason as to your choice.

5. X number of kittens in your airlock
6. X number of brews without pants
7. X number of times you've read Yob say that was his last bulk buy he is organising for a while

9. X leaving the tap open whilst filling the fermenter.
10. X violent boilover.
11. X run out of gas.
12. X flame out hops @ 60min.
13. X start drinking at mash in. (pretty much the catalyst for all of the above)

I'd say no pants brewing is pretty much the gold standard however.

14. X keg blows and you thought you had some left
15. X you want keg to blow so you can set up a full one and it keeps going (love it really)
16. X in bed before before 8pm
17. X having grog free day and friends/ family drop in

When you can brew an all grain batch of your standard house brew by thumb and nail OG and IBU. And wake up the next day so hung over you can't remember having brew a batch.

On saying all this then I must be part of the furniture :(

When you start having conversations that normal people don't recognise as being in English.

"Liquor back the wort till the refrac reading agrees with the OG predicted by Beersmith but check the pre boil grav first to avoid IBU probs. Are you doing a Hochkurz? Make sure you are spot on with the dex rest to get proper attenuation."

GF thought I was having a stroke in the Broca's area.

What about when your better half has accepted the fact that the 20 litre BM in the lounge room is part of the furniture.

When the mrs stops complaining about you looking for good beer when you're on holidays and actually starts planning your trips around good bars/breweries/homebrew shops...

Not so much in the milder months. But summer is on the way.

9.30 am mash, Mmmm, she sure is warming up. Maby I'll just have a quick one..

19 X number of times you mixed your hops up...but brewed on anyway
20. X number of times you ran out of a prticular grain

21. X number of times you've had some sort of serious injury from a brew day (ref #13)

Have you got a March Pump?
