Voosher or Ross - please can you put The Catapult in the recipe section.
Cheers

Too slow, me!!!

Always looking for simplicity and taste. Perhaps you could wack that one on the recipe board Rosco.

Cheers, Hogan.

Done - Nelson Sauvin Summer Ale. For the Porchester Brewery all Challenger Summer Ale, just substitute NS for Challenger - enjoy :chug:

Cheers Ross

Looks good. The wheat's a good addition, especially for a Summer Ale.
My Challenger version has pretty much equal hop additions at 60m, 30m, 10m and 0m.
I also think this one is great for varying hopping schedules and techniques. Because it's so simple you get a real feel for what those variations give to a brew.

One question Ross.
Nelson Sauvin flowers 6% AND 11.4% at 0m?
Can you get 6% NS flowers?

Thanks all for your input. I am making this beer now. I am mashing 5kg Powells pilsner malt freshly crushed (well, yesterday) and have Northdown hop plugs ready to go (Thanks Ross).
Still deciding on the yeast. It's going to be either Safale slury, Wyeast American lager slury or a fresh smack pack of Northwest.
I can ferment anywhere between 10-20c.
While I am deciding on the yeast choice, inputs welcome, I will let the "no chiller" method do its magic overnight.

I will call this beer "No frill AG".

What is TF torrified wheat

Archie

Toriffied wheat is basicaly puffed wheat (Sanitarium cereal (no additives), available at Coles etc) - i get mine from the local HBS. Otherwise just substitute with malted wheat. i use both, depending on what's available.

Archie, this link is what i use and what Ross is reffering to.just add it to the mash.Easy as.

i would be very wary of using anything that you are not absolutely sure doesn't contain any added sugar etc.
Torrified wheat from the brew shop/grain supplier is OK or as Ross said Just use malted wheat.
Torrified wheat gives great head,
Cheers

I made one like this recently

used:

70% JW wheat malt
30% JW ale malt
NS flowers at 60, 15 and 0 min's.
brewed with WLP001 @ 18 deg.
In secondary now and tasting great.

will be great in the keg when it gets warmer.

cheers
