Oh my god! I am soooo happy! My wife said YES!

No I am not talking about a marriage proposal. I am talking about convincing my wife that a fermentation chamber, otherwise known as a fridge, doesn't chew that much electricity and I have received the go-ahead to pick up a freebie today!

Finally able to reach the next step in my brewing journey.

Stoked.

Ah mate, that is unreal! Always nervous when you ask...

I hope you two have a great life together... And your wife can enjoy things too.

Haha thanks mate. My wife is a coeliac who hates beer. She digs a good cider though so that will be on the cards once she finishes breastfeeding

Hey mate, you might have to try my trick. I got some brewers clarex, or clarity firm. My missus is a coeliac too, and it works a treat for her. May not work for everyone but its worth a shot. Now she even helps me do a brew.

It's better to ask for forgiveness, than permission... ;)

Interesting, I'll look into it. Thanks mate!

I remember when I got my first fridge (for brewing) I now have 5 (just for brewing), "Once you start down the dark path, forever shall it ......"

Per che no les dos?

I'm impressed you asked for permission.

Please keep us updated if the wife allows you to increase your hobby supplies.

Should be interesting when you need a keg fridge, room in the backyard for growing hops, a larger shed for grain and equipment storage, a blouse washed.

On a serious note, I hope you used your free spin card to get a fridge that holds at least two fermenters, has a freezer for hop storage and the potential to be upgraded to a keg fridge.

420L will hold 6 kegs, and a bugger load of hops, also if you get into freezing yeast ... there's room :D. sure ask for permision but never, ever expose the grand plan

The wives secretly love us brewing beer. The brewing of it keeps us out of the pub, the drinking of it keeps us out of the pub.

I use an STC-1000. Got it for about 20 bucks off eBay, but it does require wiring up. Got a jiffy box and a couple of plugs from Jaycar at the Gabba there. Does heating and cooling, not that I need heating in Brisbane but wired it for it just in case I might one day. It has served me well over the past almost 3 years. :)

Haha nah it was just for the electricity side of it, because this is my second beer fridge already plus we are due for our first baby so I don't want to go overboard with stuff before he arrives, with a pregnant woman, you have to tread lightly.

I have a 390L fridge so plenty for kegs, there isn't a way to have the fridge fermenting and the freezer running is there?

I was looking at these, I'm also in Brisbane, do you not have a heating belt or pad at all? Not even in winter?
