Hi all,

Has anybody out there had any contact with the Sapporo chocolate beer?

linky

Not sure what goes into it, all the searching around I have done has revealed that it contains a) chocolate malt, and B) cacao, and that it is very chocolatey, and very nice.

Sounds like it is very hard to come by, but I believe I will have the opportunity to try one this afternoon. Can't wait!

No but I'm dead keen to try it. My mouth is watering!

What are you doing that will give you the opportunity to try it?

Don't get your hopes up too high; Japanese mega brewers are still mega brewers. They do some technically sound and interesting seasonal type beers compared to Australian megas (who don't do any seasonals, do they?), but the volume is still generally turned down and the style towards lager, and often the balance is found wanting in some way or other.

Mmm.. sounds interesting...
\Im going to Japan in September.
The land of the beer vending machine!
:D

I work for a company that supplies sapporo, and it turns out that they have sent some samplers over, sweeeet.

A few have already been tried around the company, and apparently when the can is poured into a glass there is a strong smell of chocolate. I havent yet spoken to someone who has tried it though.
