An easy way to sanitize your brew water is to add some Hydrogen Peroxide and let it sit for a few days in a clean sealed container. The H2O2 will break down rapidly and kill of the nasty bugs in the water. Just beware that it will pressurise the container as it breaks down on the water.

Or you could boil it

Or you could sterilise it by putting it in the pressure cooker

I presume you will be using the chiller method (as opposed to no chiller) with that as well, since you know those nasty bugs are pretty tough bastards.

Sorry guys, but I just couldn't help myself :p . Must stop posting on these forums while I've been drinking my non sanitized water brewed beer.

PS: I'm not really having a go at you for this thread, but a certain someone else might ;)

Cheers :)

I only do AG so I dont need to sanitize my water.

I also chill, but that is my prefernce..

The post is more aimed at those that use water of suspect quality and mainly do kits, as AG will sterilize as a result of the boiling of the wort.

If you do AG and no-chill, then you wont have to use this method...but there will be other factors involved..
