Brewer's Notes

90 min boil. Long mash time (1.5 hrs)



These are the amounts of ingredients I used, but estimated FG, IBUs + Colour here are all quite different to what Beersmith gave me. Bockbier should have OG at least 1.064.

Malt & Fermentables

0.36 kg Weyermann Caramunich III
0.1 kg Bairds Light Chocolate Malt
0.1 kg Weyermann Carafa Special I

20 g Northern Brewer (Pellet, 8.5AA%, 60mins)
18L Batch Size

  • Final Gravity 1.022 (calc)
  • Bitterness 21 IBU

  • Colour 54 EBC

I've only tried dried yeast on this recipe. Mainly because it's a huge pain for me to get liquid. If you have access to it, I'd recommend trying something like WLP833 or equivalent.
