My mate is getting into all grain. He bought a rambo wok burner and he has a square homemade pot made of best quality stainless steel about 1.2mm thick which personally I don't think will work although he said it has been used before for brewing.

What spacing is required between the burner and his pot?

Cheers
Darren

Depends on how much of a flame the burner puts out, the hottest part of the flame is the blue part just above the core of unburnt gas

Yes, I dont have a rambo but I have a 4 ring with an adjustable reg and thats how I set it up

The flame is a few inches away from my keggle, mostly to give room for airflow, but as long as it's at the blue part of the flame or slightlyhigher it should be right

Thanks everyone. He done his first brew today. He was worried about his pot so he put a bbq plate between pot and burner. It took forever but his wort seemed to have the right sg.

Cheers
Darren
